The seed team rankings at the World Team Table Tennis Championships in London concluded on May 3, with the Chinese men’s team falling 2-3 to Sweden, marking their second consecutive defeat. In contrast, the Chinese women’s team dominated South Korea 3-0, achieving their third straight win.

The men’s team featured Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong, and Liang Jingkun. Wang Chuqin earned two points by defeating Karlberg and Lanfrey 3-0 each. Lin Shidong lost both his matches, falling 2-3 to Lanfrey and 1-3 to Karlberg. Liang Jingkun battled Moregard through five tight games but ultimately lost 2-3.
After losing 1-3 to South Korea the previous day, the men’s team suffered another setback. The women’s team, however, continued their smooth run, beating South Korea 3-0 in the seed rankings match.

In the women’s match, Sun Yingsha opened by dominating South Korea’s Kim Na-young 3-0. Wang Yidi and Kuai Man also showed steady performances, defeating Park Ga-hyun and Yoo Si-woo 3-0 respectively.
Sun Yingsha commented after the match that the Chinese players are gradually finding their rhythm through these ranking matches, which will help them prepare for the knockout rounds. “This year’s World Championships feature more matches, and the competition is intense from the start. The knockout stages begin tomorrow, and everyone is getting into form during the group stage. As the tournament progresses, the opponents will become stronger, and the matches tougher. All five of us will give our best and stay united for every match,” she said.
The knockout stage of this year’s World Team Championships will begin on May 4.
