Yuri Zhirkov, head coach of Moscow’s Dynamo, commented on the sending off of the team’s manager, Roland Gusev, during the home match of the 29th round of the RPL against Krasnodar (2-1).
“I didn’t even see why he was sent off. Like all coaches, he was on the touchline, passionately giving instructions to the players. I think those yellow cards were undeserved. This was the last home game, and we had to win it—hence the emotions,” Zhirkov said at the press conference.
Krasnodar lost the lead just one round before the finish. And the championship race?
In the 79th minute, Gusev received a yellow card for “disagreement with the referee’s decision, expressed through words and gestures.” During stoppage time in the second half, he was shown a second yellow for a similar reason and was sent off.
Due to the suspension, Dynamo’s head coach will miss the final match of the 2025/26 season, the 30th round, against Baltika in Kaliningrad on May 17.
