Two-time Grand Slam champion and former world No. 2, Russian tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova, has commented on Mirra Andreeva’s loss to two-time Grand Slam winner and world No. 4 Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals of the WTA-1000 clay tournament in Rome. Andreeva, the 2024 Olympic silver medalist in doubles and current world No. 7, fell 6:4, 2:6, 4:6. The defeat extends Gauff’s head-to-head lead over Andreeva to 5-0.

“As simple as it sounds, today the result was a consequence of unforced errors. Mirra had plenty of chances against Coco – that’s great – but she couldn’t convert them. Good luck at Roland Garros,” Kuznetsova wrote on her Telegram channel.
