Spartak Moscow has officially recognized midfielder Ruslan Litvinov’s goal against CSKA as the finest in the club’s derby history of the 21st century. The announcement was made via the club’s official Telegram channel.
The strike came during the recent final of the Russian Cup’s “Path of Regions” on May 6, where Spartak secured a 1-0 victory. Litvinov scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute, unleashing a powerful long-range shot that deflected off the crossbar into the net.
“The Red-Whites have scored many spectacular goals in derbies, but the beauty of this strike, combined with the importance of the match and the fact that Ruslan is a product of our academy, made our choice clear,” the club statement read.
Spartak also released a video compilation of the best goals scored against CSKA in the 21st century, with Litvinov’s effort taking the top spot.
This season, Litvinov has made 33 appearances across all competitions for Spartak, scoring three goals and providing three assists. The victory in the Cup final booked Spartak’s place in the super final.
